HEB101D
Beginning Biblical Hebrew Level D continues building on the communicative and grammatical foundation laid in Levels A, B, and C, but expands learner’s understanding of the Hebrew verbal system and develops greater fluency—both spoken and reading—through intentional fluency building activities. Dialogue and verse memorization, audio-lingual drills, vocabulary stories, text comprehension audio, and annotated readings will also be used to increase learners’ grammatical knowledge of and intuitive understanding of the the Hebrew language. Hebrew will be used for at least 90 percent of all communication that takes place, as learners describe pictures, express ideas, read, discuss, and summarize texts, and ask one another questions in order to obtain information, all with a focus on immediate comprehension in Hebrew, and not via translation. More time will be given to student production of the language and fluency building. Word order with verbs, infinitives and infinitives with suffixes, the nif’al binyan, and stative verbs will be covered, as well as Jonah 1:9–2:3, 11 and two corresponding vocabulary stories

Enjoy your studies!
